Is it possible to unlearn a profession in wow

Obviously, harvesting profs do well, as always, except for skinning, which is so so. Engineering is a primary crafting profession that can create many useful, unique and amazing items, as well as junk but often explosive junk! Engineers can create helpful items for generally all classes to be used in PvE or PvP. Gnomish engineering specialises in utility devices shrink ray etc whereas goblin specialises in explosives. For PvP goblin is the better choice since only goblin engineers can craft Sapper Charges.

Engineering returns to Shadowlands with an array of useful items to create, including two Optional Reagents and an all-time favorite, an item to resurrect players! Belt enhancements are back, though you can only use them on yourself. Once again, Oribos has an auctioneer only engineers can use! Farming is the easiest way to make gold.

You go out with a gathering profession or just killing mobs and then you turn around and sell the stuff you farmed on the AH. The only thing you are risking is your time. It does not scale too well though as an hour of farming is always worth the same amount of gold. Sell items in-game World of Warcraft does a very good job here with their store. But you can expect to earn quite a lot if you know what you are doing and pay a lot of attention to the game market, trends, and so on.

The Scrapper is a Battle for Azeroth-specific feature and will not be in Shadowlands. On experiencing the wondrous Shadowlands, Engineers will have a techno-magical breakthrough. In fact, this continues into Shadowlands. Never tried the relearning Legion ranks. I learned the hard way that you cannot relearn your ranks on crafting professions in BFA only gathering professions. Where do the tomes come from?

Specifically tailoring. Their is no tome for re-learning BfA Tailoring as their are no non-repeatable quests that require the tome to re-learn the profession. The tomes are not intended for players to freely swap professions on a whim. They are only intended to re-learn patterns in Legion and BfA that were locked behind a non-repeatable quest, that would otherwise be lost for all time to the player without the tome.

The job of a developer is to keep customers not alienate them. The restriction on changing professions is an unnecessary restriction that lowers the fun factor for players. I will stand corrected if any positive effect on the game from this restriction can be shown.

No one would bother buying crafted items from anybody when they could do it all themselves. Be careful dropping professions. I had to level up the profession all over again and visit vendors for recipes I wanted to have. I will never drop Alchemy on my Druid.
